Fabrication Facility

Every screen we install is built by us — custom-measured, assembled in-house, and delivered to your door.

We Make What We Install

Screen Express is not a reseller. Every window screen, patio screen door, and specialty enclosure we install is fabricated by us, to your specific measurements, using materials we source and quality-check ourselves. This is what separates a made-to-measure screen from a box-store product that's "close enough."

Our fabrication operation runs out of a dedicated workshop stocked with aluminum and vinyl extrusions in a full range of profiles, mesh rolls in every grade and weave we offer, and precision cutting and assembly equipment. When a job requires a non-standard size — a Victorian double-hung window with a 24-1/4" opening, an oversized patio door, a Muskoka room panel spanning 8 feet — we build exactly that, not the nearest standard size.

What We Fabricate In-House

Window Screens

Standard and non-standard sizes. Aluminum frames in all current profiles plus legacy lip-depth stock for pre-1960 double-hung windows. Fibreglass, charcoal, no-see-um, and pet-resistant mesh.

Patio Screen Doors

Custom-sized sliding screen doors built to the measured dimensions of your patio opening. Complete frame assembly with quality rollers, handles, and latch hardware included.

Muskoka Room Enclosures

Full-perimeter screen enclosures for three-season rooms. Each panel built to the specific dimensions of your structure — ceiling, wall, and door panels all custom-sized.

Porch & Outdoor Enclosures

Screen panels for covered porches, pergolas, and outdoor living structures. Any shape, any size — we measure the opening and fabricate the panel.

Specialty Screens

Condo balcony panels, pet-resistant screens, fine-mesh no-see-um screens — built to the same custom-measured standard as all our other products.

Materials We Stock

Fibreglass mesh — 18×16

Standard residential mesh. Good visibility, good airflow, durable. The default for most window screen and door applications.

Fibreglass mesh — charcoal

Same specification as standard fibreglass, charcoal finish for better outward visibility and a cleaner exterior appearance.

No-see-um mesh — 20×20

Fine weave mesh for properties near water, ravines, or wooded areas where small insects pass through standard mesh.

Pet-resistant mesh (TuffMesh)

Heavy-duty vinyl-coated mesh rated at seven times the tensile strength of standard fibreglass. For homes with cats, dogs, or other pets.

Aluminum frame extrusions

Standard profiles plus legacy lip-depth and width stock for pre-1960 and other non-standard window and door frames.

Vinyl frame extrusions

White and beige vinyl profiles for windows where an aluminum frame would not match the existing window assembly.

Why In-House Fabrication Makes a Difference

Exact sizing — not nearest-standard

Box-store screens come in 6" increments. Actual window openings don't. A custom-fabricated screen seats tightly in the frame channel, doesn't rattle in the wind, and doesn't fall out. We cut to the millimetre.

Material control

We select the mesh and frame material for each job. Fibreglass for a standard window, charcoal for better visibility, no-see-um for a ravine property, pet mesh for a house with cats. This decision happens at the time of measurement, not at the time of order.

No minimum order, no lead time

Ordering custom screens from a supplier requires a minimum quantity and a production lead time. We fabricate single screens on-demand, on-site, on the same visit as the measurement.
